Peace Posters:

The Lions Peace Poster competition has been conducted on an annual basis since 1988. It is an international competition for students aged between 11 & 13 with a peace theme such as “Give Peace a Chance”, “Create a Brighter Tomorrow” & “Peace Without Borders”. A new theme is set each year & the competition is conducted at local, district, state & national levels with the final international judging taking place in the USA. The 2015 – 2016 theme is “Share Peace”.

The winning entrant, notified by 1 February receives US $5,000 and a trip to a special award ceremony.  There are also 23 Merit Award winners each receiving US $500 and Certificate of Achievement with all winning entrants having their posters displayed on the Lions Clubs International Peace Poster web page http://members.lionsclubs.org/EN/serve/contests/peace-poster-contest/ppc-grand-prize-winners.php

Approximately 300,000 students enter worldwide, and Ballina Lions Club is proud to have three local schools entering the competition each year. In 2014 there were over 150 school children from these schools who participated and enjoyed a lesson on a peace related theme whilst painting their posters.
